Find love in a year OR get your money back
As Valentine’s Day approaches a lot of single people get itchy fingers – well, after all it is cuffing season, as they say in online dating slang. While everyone would like to have a date – for Valentine’s at least, but preferably for longer! – not all of them end up becoming new members at an online dating site. Because, let’s face it – it is kind of expensive and if you might have lost hope in finding someone compatible online. And although your friends would tell you to just get on with it and stop being so negative, you still feel you don’t want to just throw your money down the drain.
We get it, we honestly do. We’re not judging anyone who feels disillusioned with the whole world of online dating. Sometimes it’s really hard and the damnedest thing is that there are no guarantees! If you buy a faulty product you can just take it back to the store and get your money back. It doesn’t even have to be faulty – if you decide you don’t really like the cut or the colour of the shirt you bought you can freely return it to the store if you haven’t worn it yet. But online dating doesn’t work this way. You can look and look for that right match but still end up empty-handed AND with empty pockets.
If all this sounds too close for comfort you should know that Match.com is currently offering a short window during which you can sign up AND get a whole year refunded if you fail to find your match within that year. That’s right – subscribing to Match between February 1 and February 14 means that you will have a year to find love. If on February 14 in 2017 you’re still single and can prove that you have used Match extensively to find a date – and failed at that – you have a right to request a refund.
Bear in mind though that this option is only viable if you’re serious about finding love. That is you must be able to prove to Match that you made an effort and really used their services – that is you put together a profile, uploaded a photo and also used their internal messaging service extensively. You can read all the exact terms and conditions here (scroll to bottom of page) and we encourage you to do so and give it some serious thought. It won’t suit everyone but it might just be what you’ve been looking for if you feel like you want to give finding love a chance but also are afraid that it might be a waste of money.
If you want to know a little more about what’s Match.com all about you can read our review here, see how it compares with another huge dating site eHarmony here and other major dating sites here.
Good luck & we hope you don’t need to claim any money back come Valentine’s Day 2017!
