My Lovely Parent – A Dating Site From Children to Parents

A dating site where the children of single parents get to set them up for dates in an easy and innovative way.

I’m thinking Snow White would have loved this as it could have saved her from the whole encounter with the evil stepmother and that nasty business with the poisoned apple. But that was a fairy-tale. >Mylovelyparent.com isn’t.

Mylovelyparent.com is a new dating site where sons and daughters – although it’s not exclusively meant for setting up your mum or dad only – can set up a dating profile up for their parents who find themselves single in their second youth and don’t quite know how to go about the business of dating these days.

Not unlike My Single Friend, My Lovely Parent also makes online dating easier for the single person as the kids (or other relatives) who sign them up end up doing at least some of the hard work for them.

How My Lovely Parent Started

It turns out the idea came to the site’s creator Matt from his own mother who was quite keen to go back to the world of dating but wasn’t too sure about how to start and move on. So Matt came to her help like any dutiful son and created the website himself. He made sure it was safe and easy to use so that even those parents who weren’t very computer-savvy could get by easily and would enjoy their experience online.

All one needs to do is to sign their parent (or auntie, uncle, granny, friend etc) up on the site and write a small passage about them. They will then receive an invitation link to complete their profile. The kids can stay involved past this stage as well, searching the site and helping their parents look for potential matches. The site creators promise that each profile is checked by their team before they put it up thus keeping the scammers and fake profiles to a minimum and making sure the parents get the best out of the site. They’ve even partnered up with family support charity Family Life where the users can turn with questions or worries. Oh, and the best bit – all this is absolutely free.

The site’s team also runs a blog and have an extensive support and advice section covering different subjects from staying safe online to relationship advice after divorce or bereavement. From what we can tell based on our own experience on the different online dating sites in the past ten years, My Lovely Parent really takes care of their clientele.

It’s only surprising something like this hasn’t sprung up before! But as experts of the online dating scene we fully embrace and welcome this new addition to the family.
